What is osteopathy?

Traditional (manual) osteopathy is a science, heavily based on a detailed understanding of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and their important interrelationships.

The science of osteopathy is balanced by the artistry of the practitioner’s precise manual skill.

Osteopathy aims to restore the necessary mobility of anatomical structures and the normal, vital flow of the body’s fluids (e.g., circulation of blood and lymph).

Once the initial health issue has been resolved, the osteopath (and the patient) can focus on the prevention of relapse.

Osteopathic techniques exist for the majority of the body’s tissues and their various connections.  The osteopathic vision is one of holistic health, seeking to address the whole individual.
